Water Safety Ireland and STA Announce Insurance Agreement

Water Safety Ireland is today delighted to announce an agreement with STA in which we will recognise all of STA’s swimming teachers’ qualifications for their members in Ireland, including those who hold the Level 2 Award and Certificate, Baby and Pre-School, Disabilities and Open Water Coaching qualifications.

This agreement means that every Irish swimming teacher who holds a qualification with STA can now join Water Safety Ireland as a member and benefit from their public liability and professional indemnity insurance package once you complete the membership process.

This will be a seamless process; you will not be required to revalidate, or resit any form of training with Water Safety Ireland, which means you will be able to continue to teach as you’ve always done with your STA qualification. For details on how to apply for membership with Water Safety Ireland, please see our Insurance hub. If you have further questions please contact [email protected].

In addition, STA will be offering their Irish members a pro-rota refund on their current STA membership – please email [email protected] to discuss each case on an individual basis.

For STA Tutors in Ireland, this is also good news because it means you can continue as normal delivering STA courses, and all your successful learners can become members of Water Safety Ireland.

Water Safety Ireland and STA are thrilled to forge this partnership, which will no doubt aid drowning prevention throughout Ireland.
