This role will assist in the further development of Water Safety Ireland’s (WSI) syllabi and related activities to ensure it consistently meets best international practice. This role will contribute to the achievement of our strategy by working closely with various WSI commissions, as well as local authorities, instructors, examiners, and teachers nationwide.

Location
While based in Galway, this is a hybrid role that also involves some travel. Please note that WSI has a Hybrid Working Policy that allows you to apply to work from home up to three days and in the office for a minimum of 2 days a week.
Conditions of Service
Contract term and probation: The position is initially offered for 3 years on a fixed
term basis. The contract will be renewed subject to satisfactory performance and
WSI’s financial resources. A probationary period of 6 months will apply from your
start date. The appointment is subject to any and all employment legislation, including any Act in force relating to the Civil Service.
Salary: The Salary Scale for the position is as follows: (rates effective from 1st March 2023):
€33,812 -€35,714- €36,788- €38,884- €40,763- €42,580- €44,391- €46,164- €47,955- €49,696- €51,492 -€52,692(MAX) – €54,4031- €56,1272
Entry will be at the minimum of the scale and the rate of remuneration will not be subject to negotiation and may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy.
Different terms and conditions may apply if you are currently serving civil or public servant.
Subject to satisfactory performance increments may be payable in line with current Government policy. Payment will be made fortnightly in arrears by electronic funds transfer to a bank account of your choice. Please note that payment cannot be made until Bank details are supplied. Statutory deductions from salary will be made as appropriate.
Personal Pension Contribution (PPC)
The PPC rate applies when the individual is required to pay a Personal Pension Contribution (otherwise known as a main scheme contribution) in accordance with the rules of their main superannuation scheme.
Hours: Full time: Net 35 hours per week.
